Mary Lucille (Cyganowski) Frankiewicz, 87, of Salisbury, NC died May 7, 2022. Mary was born on July 19, 1934 in East Chicago, Indiana to Michael and Pauline Cyganowski.

She is survived by her son Richard Frankiewicz (wife Coleen), daughter Dawn Lamb (husband Craig), grandchildren Matthew Frankiewicz, Josiah Lamb (wife Samantha), Allison Deen (husband Colby), Ryan Frankiewicz and Shane Frankiewicz. She is also survived by brother Michael Cyganowski and sister Rita Krukowski.

Mary and Eugene Frankiewicz were married on May 12, 1956 in East Chicago, Indiana and enjoyed 62 years of marriage until Eugene’s death in 2018.

Mary grew up in Hammond, Indiana. She graduated from Hammond Tech High School. Mary was employed by Sam Sax Shoes her entire career. For over 40 years she was the bookkeeper for the business.

Mary loved to read. There was always a book next to her chair or in her bag.

Mary dedicated her life to her family. Sunday dinner meant going to her parents’ home and a family vacation always meant a visit to family.

In retirement, Mary and Eugene lived in Delphi, Indiana for 20 years, later moving to Florida and later to Salisbury, North Carolina.

Mary will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Oaks Retirement Community. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are encouraged to support a charity of their choice in honor of Mary.
