Melody Ann Pierce Polk 70, of Salisbury, NC, passed away at Rowan Regional Medical Center on March 23, 2025. Born October 25, 1954, in Salisbury NC, Melody was a daughter of Grady Cole Pierce and Naomi Younce (Pierce) Cates. She graduated from East Rowan High School in 1973.

Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Ashley Rose Kirkman Hobson, sister Tracy Cates, and beloved grandmother Irene Kluttz Younce, she is survived by daughter Erin Marie Kirkman, grandchildren Will and Lana Williams, JR Parham, RJ, Wyatt, and Braiden Hobson. Melody is also survived by sisters Wanda Nesbitt, Elizabeth Pierce, Benita Honeycutt, Star Shown, and brother Terry Pierce.

Melody loved to garden, and won blue ribbons at the county fair for her canned okra. She loved life and adventure, the beach, hot air balloons, train rides to Washington, DC, Atlanta, GA, and auto travel to the 48 continental United States.
