Monte Edward Hayes, 60, of Kannapolis, passed away on Friday April 22, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center – Northeast surrounded by family. Mr. Hayes was born on May 24, 1955 in Newton Grove, NC to Mr. Harvey Hayes and the late Martha Hayes. Mr. Hayes proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Monte attended Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Mooresville and was a long time truck driver for Terminal Trucking in Concord, NC. He enjoyed taking rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and taking trips to White Lake with family. As well as spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by daughter, Crystal Louise Hayes.

In addtion to his father, Mr. Harvey Hayes and step-mother Leigh Hayes of Newton Grove, NC. He is also survived by his wife of 31 years, Carlene Ramsey Hayes of Kannapolis; two daughters, Christy of Salisbury, and Jill of Kannapolis; two brothers, Barry and Timmy Hayes of NC; a sister, Sue Lekens and husband Leslie of Manteo, NC. As well as six grandchildren, J.J (9), Adrian (6), Liliana (6), Jaylah (3), April (2) & Mauricio (2).

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Monte Edward Hayes will be held on Saturday May 14, 2016 at 12:00 PM at 440 Phaniel Church Rd. Rockwell, NC 28138. Service will be conducted by Rev. Daniel Ramsey.
