Mrs. Polly Rimer Owens, 74 of Spencer passed to her heavenly home on January 21, 2012 at the Hinkle Hospice House following a brief illness at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was born May 22, 1937 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Coy Rimer and Louise Adams. She was educated in the Rowan County Schools and was a graduate of Boyden High School. Polly worked in various retail positions and as a tax consultant. In her youth she attended Oakdale Baptist Church and later Franklin Baptist Church. Her love of the coast led her to Surfside Beach, SC where she lived for many years before returning home to Spencer

Polly was a loving mother, precious daughter, sweet sister and caring friend; generous and compassionate and always with laughter and a smile. She was loved by many, and will be sadly missed.

Polly was preceded in death by her son Terry Owens. She leaved behind a son, Rodney Easter of the home, a daughter Leigh Ann Sharpe of West Columbia, SC, granddaughters, Kelly and Allison Shape, Great grandson, Kyler Sharpe. Also her brothers, Ben Rimer and John Adams, Sisters Sandy Hache and Diane Hamilton.
