Pamela Jean (Pearl) Richards, 64, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2022 at Carrington Place in Matthews, North Carolina.
She was born November 29, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Claude Thomas Pearl and Jean (Howard) Pearl. Pam was passionate about her involvement with Special Olympics of NC since 2007, where she was a medal-winning athlete in several sports, served on the leadership council and was an Ambassador/public speaker. She was a valued member of The Self Advocates of Mecklenburg County (SAM), a member of Kiwanis Aktion Club, and a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Charlotte. She loved watching football and spending time with her many, many friends.
In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Richards and her beloved nephew, Eric Beers.
Pam is survived by her sister, Theresa (Pearl) Beers, husband Dean and precious niece, Melissa Beers; Her other sister, Peggy (Pearl) Bennett, husband Nick and treasured nephews, Joshua and Trevor Bennett; and half-brother, Ted Pearl, wife Sue, and niece Kimmie.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 with visitation beginning at 2:15pm and Celebration at 4:00pm at Central United Methodist Church, 6030 Albemarle Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212.
