Peggy Ann Cowden, 63, of Cooleemee, passed away on September 30, 2016 peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC after a short and strong fought battle with Cancer. She passed away with family and friends by her side. Peggy was born on August 27, 1953 to the late Grover Cleveland Brown and Margaret Lucille Brown.
She resided in Davie County almost all of her life. Peggy was an extremely hard worker and always tried to help others. She enjoyed time with her family, watching the history channel, and late night talks with her best friend Linda. She also worked at National General Insurance for over 22 years. Peggy was an amazing sister, mother, friend, and woman. She will forever by remembered as a loving and strong woman!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Sue Brown, and other family members and friends, including a former coworker Missy.
She is survived by her a son, Eric Wayne Head and wife Amanda; a daughter, Amanda Lynn Bouldin and husband Chris; two beautiful granddaughters, Kalista Head and Alexis Bouldin; a sister, Jane Daywalt; and a brother, Steven Green. She is also survived by her best friend of over 50 years, Linda McDaniel and husband John; along with numerous coworkers at NGIC that loved her.
In lieu of a funeral, Peggy requested a Potluck Celebration of Life: to be held October 29th, 2016 from 12-4 pm located at the Jericho Ruritan Building (771 Greenhill Rd., Mocksville, NC). Please bring a dish, dessert, etc. and a fond memory.
Peggy’s family would like to thank Linda and John McDaniel for all their care and support throughout their lives with her. Thank you to the numerous friends Peggy has, the excellent staff of the Oncology floor at Novant Forsyth Medical Center, Silas Creek Rehabilitation and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House.
