Ray Daniel “Tarzan” Upright, Jr., 53, of Rockwell, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, NC.

He was born April 14, 1972 in Concord, NC to Lyndyll Blake Poythress and the late James Ray Upright. Ray loved to paint and fish. He would always make sure you were taken care of others, but most of all he loved his family.

In addition to his mother, Linda; Ray is survived by his brother, Bobby Upright; daughters, Brittany Lambert and Amber Lambert; four grandchildren, three nieces; grandma, Abbie; several uncles, aunts and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
