Richard “Sam” Redieck, age 87, passed away on November 20, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Sam joined the Navy after high school and went on to work for Libbey Owens Ford in Rossford, OH as a crane operator. He retired after 30 years.

Sam was a generous friend and neighbor whose greatest joys were spending time with his grandkids, playing golf, and watching the Detroit Tigers play baseball. He volunteered for Toledo-based charity Hannah’s Socks and lived his later years in Charlotte, NC, with his daughter and grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Doris Turner (Victor) in Charlotte, NC and Rick Redieck (Dana) in OK. His sisters Sally Lytle and Marylou Stripling in Toledo, OH. His grandchildren: Keith and Kelly Johns; Robert, Caleb, Hannah, Connor, Krystyna, Nathan, Bethany, and Faith Turner; Samantha and Susan Redieck; and his great-grandchildren Parker Johns and River and Caiden Mergentime, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dolly Redieck, brother Ronald Redieck, and brother and best friend Joseph Redieck.

A private gathering will be held at his daughter’s home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care Of Cabarrus County.
