Rita Mae (Wheeler) Richmond went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2026.

Rita was born on September 9, 1956 in Beckley, West Virginia. She was a resident of North Carolina for the last 5 years of her life. She loved her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ramona; father, Thamer; son, Shawn Richmond and 6 siblings.

She is survived by her son, Willard Chapmond, Jr. (West Virginia), 3 grandchildren, Kody Chapmond (West Virginia), Hunter Chapmond (West Virginia), Autumn Crowell (North Carolina) and 5 great grandchildren. She was also survived by 5 siblings in West Virginia and North Carolina.
