Shelton Kent Oxendine, 54, of Asheville, NC passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born on June 13, 1965 in Lumberton, NC to the Late LB Oxendine and Polly Hardin Oxendine.

He enjoyed being with family, working on projects with his hands, coloring, music, and watching movies. He was always loving, and happy go lucky to all his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Shelton is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bertha and Laxton Hardin; paternal grandparents, Donald and Lillie Mae Oxendine; brothers, Ronald Locklear, and James Earl Locklear; and a sister, Wanda Faye O. Johnson.

Shelton is survived by his brothers, Jimmy Oxendine, Michael Oxendine, Ricky Oxendine, all of Concord, and Robert Oxendine of Gastonia; sister, Deborah Oxendine Schewe (Clint Schewe) of Concord; nieces, Sarah Gunter (Carl) of Louisana; Cheyenne Jones (Matt) of Apex; Crystal Brewington of Concord; Natasha Oxendine of Concord; Margaret Oxendine of Rock Hill; Norma Oxendine of Shelby; Erica Johnson and Ariana Johnson, both of Concord; nephews, Cashton Kelly Gudger of Oak City; Justin Oxendine of Charlotte; Daniel Oxendine of Fayetteville; Michael Lee Oxendine of Salisbury; and Chavezy Oxendine of Albemarle.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
