Sylvia Jean Swing Bailey, 80, of Kannapolis, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025.

She was born September 6, 1944 in Concord, NC to the late Wilkes Swing and Naomi Kerley Swing. Sylvia worked for many years in the local cotton mills in the spinning room. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Candy and petting every dog that came by her way.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Bailey and her beloved fur baby, Peaches.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Deborah “Candy” Sheetz (Jefferson) of Supply, NC; granddaughter, April McFayden (Zach) of Tarboro,NC; grandsons, Mark Overcash and Matthew Overcash, both of Albemarle, NC. In addition, Sylvia has six great grandchildren, Vlad Coppock, Nadia Coppock, Jacob Keel, Trace Keel, Lyndsey Keel, and Aiden Overcash; and two great great grandchildren, Esme Orr and Baby Coppock (to arrive soon).

There will not be a memorial service held as Sylvia didn’t want any of this to be done.
