William Harry Rohrey, 86, of Harrisburg, NC, peacefully passed away Sunday, January 1st, 2017.

William was born May 6, 1930 to the late Edward Henry Rohrey and Bertha Freiling Rohrey in Steubenville, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and in his spare time enjoyed woodcarving and collecting knives.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rosemary Shade Rohrey; son, Glenn “Butch” Rohrey; brother, Edward Rohrey, Jr.; sisters, Eleanor Landis, Thelma Bergstresser and Dorothy Guss.

He is survived by a son, William “Bill” Rohrey (Jonda Lauri) of Steubenville, OH; 2 daughters, Vicki Aquirre (Marc) of Boise, ID and Beth Rozsa (Jim) of Harrisburg, NC; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca Davis (Jason) of Harrisburg, NC; Jennifer Mayfield (Robert) of Gold Hill, NC; Emily Sacksteder (Trevor) of Westerville, OH; Paul Rohrey of Westerville, OH; and Ben Rohrey (Cristina) of Westerville, OH; 6 great-grandchildren, Addison Davis, Avery Davis, Harper Davis, Selah Mayfield, Kierstyn Eschbacher and Benjamin Rohrey. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
