Edward Robert “Buzz” Taylor of Troy, departed this life on July 9, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte following a long illness. Buzz was born on December 18, 1929 in Somerset, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Frances Indehar and Raymond Alan Taylor.
Buzz is a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. He was an airplane pilot, an avid golfer, and a world class sailor. Buzz was a retired self employed engineer.
In addition to his parents, Buzz is preceded in death by two brothers, and his faithful Boston Terrier, Captain Bruce Holt “Buster” Jackson.
Buzz is survived by his loving wife of over 32 years, Lois Harris Taylor; sons, Edward Robert “Rob” Taylor, Jr. and wife Arlene of Wendell; daughters, Gayle T. Lazio and husband Joe of Clayton, and Jennifer Taylor Hill and husband Ric of High Point. Buzz is also survived by “sons” he loved and raised as his own, Jason Craig Harris and wife Jenni of Wilmington, Stephen Harris “Tad” Russell and wife Claudette of Troy, Donald Henry “Russ” Russell of Troy. Mother in law, Dortha Harris Cave of Troy, brother in law, Ted Harris of Troy and sister in law, Sonja Harris Greer of Troy. Buzz is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, and a special “daughter”, Kasey Renae Harris of Atlanta, GA. Sisters, Lillian Taylor Dustin, Betsy Taylor, and brother, Richard Taylor and wife Thelma all of Pennsylvania.
Buzz is survived by his faithful and loving Boston Terriers, Augustus Maximillian “Max” Harris and Emmylou’s Jack Winston.
