Mary Alice Turner, 72, of New London, NC passed away on August 20, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center Northeast surrounded by family. Mrs. Turner was born on October 30, 1940 in Stanly County, NC to the late Benjamin F. Ledbetter and Mary Ella McLendon Ledbetter.

Mary was a life long member of Bethel United Methodist Church in New London, NC and was a member of the Methodist Women’s Group. Mary was the Co-Owner of Badin Heating and Air Conditioning and loved painting, sewing, gardening, and art. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Martin Turner, and a brother, Benjamin F. Ledbetter Jr..

Mary Alice Turner is survived by her children, Johnny M. Turner and wife Renee of New London, James Dean Turner and wife Beth of Jacksonville, and Debbie T. Ledbetter and husband Tim of Kannapolis, two brothers, Tom Ledbetter and wife Barbara of New London, and Richard Ledbetter of New London, grandchildren, Samantha Turner, Travis Turner, Glenn Turner, Jennifer Moore, Jessica Astudillo, and Matthew Ledbetter, great grandchildren, Connor Turner, Rosabella Moore, Willow Moore, and Scarlet Moore, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private Graveside Service and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
