Olin Edward Stamper Sr., 80, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday May 18, 2015 at Novant Rowan Medical Center is Salisbury. Mr. Stamper was born on January 18, 1935 in Rowan County to the late Olin G. Stamper and Mary Barber Stamper.
Olin worked for Loeblein Brothers Furniture is an upholsterer and was a graduate of Spencer High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, baseball, and anything that involved being outdoors. Olin and his wife loved traveling to the beach and mountains whenever they could. He also had his commercial fishing license and loved to go fishing off of Cape Hatteras. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, Floyd Stamper, James Stamper, Hurley Stamper, Doug Stamper, and Harold Stamper.
Olin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annie “Becky” Rebecca Stamper of Salisbury; two sons, Olen Stamper Jr. of Salisbury, and Brad Stamper (Mona) of Little River, SC; three daughters, Debbie Stamper (Tony) of Salisbury, Sharon Clement (Charlie) of Salisbury, and Terri Stamper (Jose) of Salisbury; one brother, Lee Stamper of Salisbury; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at his residence on Saturday May 23, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
