Elaine Reid Parker passed away peacefully in her home on July 27, 2026. She was born to Helen Clodfelter Reid in Salisbury, North Carolina, on December 17, 1940.

A native of Rowan County, Elaine spent most of her life in North Carolina. She graduated from Dunbar High School in East Spencer in 1960 and worked at Fieldcrest Cannon Mill for many years before retiring.

Elaine was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and a truly virtuous woman. She radiated faith, love, and kindness with every fiber of her being, setting an extraordinary example for all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Elaine had a passion for nurturing the world around her. She loved children most of all, and nothing brought a brighter smile to her face than the sound of a child’s laughter or the sight of them playing. That same gentle spirit extended to her love of plants and flowers. Her green thumb was unmistakable, and she could revive almost any struggling plant and help it flourish. Elaine found joy in tending to her garden each day, carefully checking its progress, talking to her plants, and caring for each one with patience and tenderness.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, James Parker; her daughter, Pamela White; her mother, Helen Clodfelter Reid; her sisters, Margaret Frost, Helen Brown, and Wilma Chalk; and her brother, Clyde Junior Reid.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Gregory Parker (Fonda); her grandson, Antonyio Parker, who she lovingly raised (Heather), who had the privilege of caring for her in their home; her brother, Jerry Reid (Wanda); and her sister, Debra Dalton, all of Salisbury, North Carolina, along with a host of grandchildren, in-laws, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Elaine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Salisbury, North Carolina.
