Aaron “Clay” Webb, 27, of Salisbury, NC passed away on April 17, 2020 after a brave two-year battle with cancer.
Clay was born in Valdese, NC on May 3, 1992. He was raised by his grandparents, Betty Webb and the late Bobby Webb of Granite Falls, NC. He graduated from Daniel Boone High School in Gray, TN in 2010 and continued his education receiving certification in structural and pipe welding from the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology in Troy, Ohio.
Clay worked as a welder for Virginia Carolina Refractory based in Salisbury, NC where he considered owner Randy Basinger and his fellow workers to be extended family. It was Clay’s specific request to thank Randy and his co-workers for their kindness and unwavering support throughout his illness.
Clay enjoyed hanging out with his brothers and friends, loved fishing, and appreciated the self-discipline of working out. He cherished being an uncle, was a devoted grandson, and a loyal friend. He discovered the joy of being a cat dad after adopting Mitts, whom he raised from a young kitten. Pushing his limits during treatment, he bagged two bucks during his last hunting trip with cousin Chris Webb, fondly recalling the experience often. He had an unshakeable faith in the Lord, never complained or questioned his battle, and amazed everyone with his positive attitude until he was called home.
His is survived by brothers Josh Webb (wife Cherish and daughter Laiken) and Adam Webb (wife Anastasia and children Tristan, Sophia, and Riley), grandmother Betty Webb, mother and step-father Jeannie and Vern Fenner, and father Scott Webb, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also left to cherish his memory are close friends Marius Doyle, Nick Karimi, Brittany Gortney, and Kelli Doyle.
Clay is preceded in death by his grandfather Bobby Webb.
Family and friends also wish to thank the amazing staff of Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate care and guidance.
A memorial service will be planned in the future after restrictions of the current pandemic are lifted.
Carolina Cremation of Salisbury and Charlotte is assisting the Webb family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

Clay was easily one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He had an amazing personality and could always find a way to make you feel special. He was a great friend and loved his Grandma more than anything. I’m so sad to hear of his passing, I know he is watching over his family and friends with happiness.
