Barbara Cobb Bernard, 76, of Mount Pleasant, died at the Tucker Hospice House of Cabarrus County on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. She was born on June 15, 1938 in Cabarrus County to the late John S. Cobb Sr. and Alma Anderson Cobb.
Barbara loved spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and feeding her birds. She enjoyed all types of music and loved to dance.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Sandy C. Long and a brother, Larry S. Cobb.
She is survived by her three children, Terri M. Caudill (Mike), Beth K. McWhorter (Renee), and Scott McWhorter (Jackie); a brother, John S. Cobb Jr. (Brenda); five grandchildren, Marc Morgan, Amber M. Blanton, Rustin McWhorter, Joshua Reinheardt, and Jamie Kerley; and three great-grandchildren, Marcus Morgan, Kaylea Blanton, and Myles Cress.
Barbara’s family would like to thank Bill Bonny, her companion for the past 16 years, for all of his support and care that he has shown their mother.
The family will receive friends at the Tucker Hospice House (5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081) on Friday May 1, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
