With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Belinda Harwood Bracken on July 24, 2025, at age 53.
A lifelong resident of Salisbury, NC, Belinda was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend. Her warmth, strength, and joyful spirit will be missed more than words can express.
Born on October 8, 1971, Belinda was raised in faith, growing up in a Baptist church. Her love for God shaped how she lived—rooted in compassion, grace, and strength.
She met her soulmate, Robert Allen Bracken, at a young age, and together they shared 35 years of deep, unwavering love. Belinda was Robert’s heart, his home, and his greatest treasure.
Her proudest role was being a mother to Ashley, Courtney, and Robert Michael Bracken. She was their protector, their rock, and biggest cheerleader. Her grandchildren—Jaden, Brianna, Charlie, Ava, Kayley, and Kylie—were the lights of her life. She treasured their sleepovers, their laughter, and every hug.
She is survived by her brother, John Michael Harwood, and cousin who was more like a sister Malissa Critchley, along with a large extended family whom she deeply loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vickie and John Harwood, her sister Barbara Ann Harwood, and her brother Paul Leaster Harwood.
Belinda worked at Thompson Screen Print for years before retiring to enjoy life with her family. She loved her dogs like children and found peace in the outdoors—especially when hunting or fishing, two of her favorite pastimes that brought her calm and joy. She proudly shared stories of her son’s service in the U.S. Marine Corps and often reminisced about her beloved grandparents. She had a fun-loving spirit, enjoyed casino trips, and lived for making memories.
Whether traveling, laughing, or just sitting on the porch, Belinda embraced life with love and purpose. She leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love.
Though she may be gone, her light lives on in every heart she touched. “Those we love don’t go away… still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
