Betty Jo Looper, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday February 19, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center – Northeast surrounded by family. Betty was born on June 4, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Adolph Etter and Corine Bless Etter.

Betty was a christian woman and she enjoyed bowling, watching television, softball, and gambling. She worked many different jobs throughout her life, but enjoyed working in the casinos the most as a machine operator. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Russell Wayne Pitcox, and a brother, Harold “Tex” Etter.

She is survived by two daughters, Julie Ann Shadden and husband Bill of Mooresville, and Robbi Lynn Karr of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Marge Ann Parks of California; thirteen grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of life will be held on Monday February 22, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (425 Mt. Pleasant Rd. North, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124) conducted by Pastor Jacob Urrea.
