Beverly Temple Johnson Yaple, 89, of Advance, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 surrounded by family.
She was born on April 30, 1929 in Syracuse, NY to Mr. and Mrs. Lester Temple. Beverly enjoyed helping others and she supported St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Danville, VA with preparing Thanksgiving dinner and organizing the church’s library. Her love for education and literacy lead her to help people learn how to read at the community center and support education by donating classroom supplies to elementary schools. In her spare time, Beverly enjoyed painting landscapes and doing a variety of crafts from sewing to jewelry making. She also enjoyed mystery novels, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by two husbands, Norman Johnson and John Yaple; and her children Noreen Rossi and Walter Johnson.
Beverly is survived by her grandson, David Johnson and his wife, Joyce of Salisbury, NC; two great-grandchildren; a nephew, Rodney Brand and his wife, Marion of Cleveland, NY; and their children.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (P.O.Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123), or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
