Billie Jo Tolbert, 49, of Kannapolis, passed away on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast surrounded by family. Billie was born on October 21, 1966 in Williamson County, Illinois to Mary Williams Tolbert and the late Charles Bud Tolbert.

Billie worked as a CNA in nursing homes and was a member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She loved going to the beach with her family and having cookouts and barbecues with her family and friends. Billie always had a sense of humor and she enjoyed shooting guns as well.

In addition to her dad, she is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Tolbert, and two sisters, Charlene Tolbert and Dora Hall.

She is survived by her fiance, Terry Dixon of Kannapolis; four daughters, Jessica Burnett of Kannapolis, Monique Hill and husband Brian of Herrin, IL, Heather Dixon of Kannapolis, and Jessica Dixon of Kannapolis; her mother, Mary Williams Tolbert and fiance Jerry Mezo of Herrin, IL; a brother, Bobby Tolbert and wife Amanda of Herrin, IL; two sisters, Balinda Tolbert and fiance Johnny Menice of Herrin, IL, and Patricia Sellers and husband Kenneth of Herrin, IL; two half-brothers, John Tolbert, and Billy Tolbert both of Herrin, IL; two half-sisters, Tina Tolbert, and Linda Tolbert both of Herrin, IL; two sister-in-laws, four brother-in-laws, and six grandchildren with one more on the way.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in NC and in Illinois.
