Bonita Gail Fanning McGuire, 74, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026. She was born on March 30, 1952, in Pearisburg, Virginia, to the late George Fanning and Goldie Martin Fanning.

Bonita was a hardworking and caring woman who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. She had a generous heart and often went out of her way to help others, always putting the needs of those around her before her own. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to be there for others touched the lives of many.

Above all, Bonita cherished her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She treasured the time spent with her loved ones and created memories that will be held close to their hearts for years to come. Her love and presence brought comfort and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Bonita will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave, the kindness she showed, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Fanning and Goldie Martin Fanning; her brothers, Lawrence Fanning and Gary Fanning; sisters, Alice Fanning and Freida Mckeel; and her loving husband Jackson “Fred” McGuire.

She is survived by her daughter, Shawn (Tim) Devinney; granddaughter, Sarah Bogue, and her loving cats, Binx and Uno McGuire.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and devotion to her , family and others. May she rest peacefully, knowing she was deeply loved and will . never be forgotten.
