Bonnie Louise Mason went home to Jesus on December 13, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her family at age 73.
Bonnie was born to James and Mabel Tunget on August 23, 1951. Bonnie was a devoted wife to her husband, John Mason. They married on April 20, 2011, and have had a beautiful life together.
In addition to being a dedicated wife, loving mother, “Momaw Bee” to her grandchildren she also loved working in her flower garden, had a gift for painting and a passion for various types of craft work. She worked at the Baptist Home in Albemarle, the Taylor House as a CNA and loved caring for the people there before she retired and become a home maker.
Bonnie held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She had “big faith” that God was going to take care of her, and He has done that. And as she would always say “God’s Got This”. He truly does have her completely wrapped in His loving arms now.
Bonnie joins in Heaven her parents, James and Mabel Tunget, her sister Lucy Harvey, daughter Laurie Drennen and grandson Josh Furr. She is survived by her husband John Mason, sister Betty Jo Google (Dennis), daughters Jackline Fields (John), ShellieAlmond (Jody), and stepchildren Kimberly Mason (Travis Honaker), Eddie Puckett and Maria Jarrell. Her grandchildren Justin, Ashlee, Amanda, Bobby, Amber and Christian and had 15 great grandchildren.
Bonnie will be dearly missed, but will always be remembered for her faith, love, and the light she brought into the world. She is now at peace, embraced by the grace of God.
The family will receive friends at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Greater Life Church of Locust 103 Locust Avenue Locust, NC 28097. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12:00 pm in the sanctuary and a burial service will be held immediately after at Oakboro Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Pastor Daniel Haskett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care Rowan, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Mason family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
