Brenda Poplin Blackwood, 77, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center after a period of declining health.

She was born April 6, 1949 in Salisbury, NC. She retired from Woodards Patio Furniture, where she was employed for many years. She love her family and all her grandsons. Brenda loved gardening and planting flowers.

Mrs. Blackwood was preceded in death by her mother, Dolly Jean Poplin and father, Floyd C. Poplin, Sr.

Brenda is survived by her Husband Boyce Arlen Blackwood; son, Shawn A. Blackwood, Sr., sisters and brothers, Carol P. Stirewalt (Lloyd), Jean P. Myers (Bobby-dec), Floyd C. Poplin, Jr. (Teresa), Robbie A. Poplin (Lisa); grandsons, Shawn A. Blackwood, Jr., Hunter J. Blackwood and Andrew Blackwood.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at The Den Church (8960 Castor Road, Salisbury, NC).
