Brian Krueger, 73, of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away on October 28, 2024, after a period of declining health.
Born to Colonel Richard F. and Marian Krueger, Brian’s life was shaped by his family’s military background, leading him to live in various places around the world. He graduated from Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee, where he earned an athletic scholarship to NC State University. While at NC State, he was a member of the last NCSU football team to win the ACC championship and was recently honored for his accomplishments at Carter-Finley Stadium in 2023.
After college, Brian lived in Raleigh, North Carolina, working at Wachovia Bank. He later moved back to Johnson City, Tennessee, to work at Texas Instruments and start a family with his first wife Deborah Andrews. A frequent golfer at the Johnson City Country Club, he later relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee, where he worked for Beacon Electronics and married his second wife, Carla Hopper. A dedicated fan, he often attended University of Tennessee football games. In his later years, he moved to Salisbury, North Carolina, to receive care from his family.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marian, and his sister, Linda Davis (Rich Davis). He is survived by his sister, Candith Pallandre, and his three children: Jimmy Krueger, Andrea Anderson (Keith Anderson), and Mary Katherine Kelly (Ben Kelly). He is also survived by five grandchildren: Keegan Krueger (Megan Krueger), Mikayla Young, McKenzie Krueger, Kaden Anderson, and William Kelly; two great-grandsons: Koltin and Karter; and four nieces: Marian, Meagan, Laura, and Claire.
Funeral Arrangements: November 3rd, 2024 at 5pm at Cornerstone Church 315 Webb Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147. In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to Meals on Wheels Rowan, P.O. Box 1914 Salisbury, NC 28145, a cause that was dear to Brian.
