To the Campbell family. We are so sorry for your loss. My mom (Gladys) and Carlene were the best of friends. When they fed the blind at Center Church those two always made sure there was plenty of good tea. When my Mom wasn’t able to go she would set her tea at the end of the back walk and Carlene would pick it up and take it to the church. Just a sweet little story that I always remember about those two. Prayers are sent out to each of you. Mike and Judy Greene.

Oh my goodness, what a lady. I know she will be missed by many. I kinda thankful I’ve had the past three months to wean off of her powerful presence. I missed seeing her everyday; but when I did, she always made me feel like my life had a higher purpose. She couldnt even be grouchy without apologizing in advance. I could go on and on about how she has enriched my life in the short five years I have come to know her. I will just say thank you to her family, who gave me this opportunity. And let you all know that she could not have been more proud of every single one of you than she was. I loved her with you and I will miss her with you all. What a lady ! Always Cyndi

My Sympathy on the death of Carlene. My memories of her go back 50 years with her and the
awesome Campbell family. I will always remember Carlene’s laughter and her welcoming spirit. She showed me that one can be a Christian and still say an occasional “shit” or tell a somewhat off color joke. I got to know the Campbell family when Paul was battling cancer. Many Sunday afternoons we were treated with Carlene’s homemade ice cream while visiting with Paul. She got me out of my shell by having me participate with her in the program at Center for the visually handicapped. She could cook a meal for a few or MANY and never seemed to be rattled by the chore. When I think of Carlene, I WILL ALWAYS SMILE. Love to all of you and thank you for the many memories. I am thankful that our paths crossed 7 years ago. BG has been a blessing to me, always reminding me of family first. She was a lady packed with wisdom, opinions and laughs. I am truly blessed to have had her and the entire Campbell family in my life. Hugs and Love to you all!
Shana Christensen (Brody) says
What an honor and gift it was to be her granddaughter. Every moment and memory I have of her is warm and filled with love. I’m so grateful for that. It was never easy living so far away, but it is a gift to have only special, happy memories with her because of it. I know I owe much of my love for birds to her – as we always filled her feeders and sat in her swings watching them and visiting. I will fondly remember cooking and baking together, laboring over puzzles, laughing over the antics of the little kids swarming about, large family gatherings, gardening and talking about her memories of family no longer with us.
Rest well, Granny. With love, always.
Thank you to the community and for your kind comments and condolences. It is so appreciated.
