Christopher Noel Taylor, 37 of Salisbury, NC passed away gently in the early morning of September 9th at home after a long battle with brain cancer. His life will be celebrated at Cornerstone Church (315 Webb Road) on Sunday, September 20, 2026 5PM beginning with a visitation at 4PM. 

Christopher was a beloved child, born January 4, 1989 at Rowan Memorial Hospital in Salisbury and was the middle child of three in the Taylor family. He grew up loving Jesus, music, soccer, camping and family. He attended Knox Middle and Salisbury High Schools and while there, he sang tenor in Honors Chorus and All County Chorus (2003) and acted in plays via Drama Club. Neil Simon’s Fools (Slovitch) and Swerling and Burrow’s Guys and Dolls (ensemble) are two of the plays that he graced the stage with. He played YMCA recreational soccer as a youth and Rowan County Rage Club Soccer as a teen. He often played on teams above his age because of his advanced skills as a sweeper and right fullback. He also excelled in the Salisbury High School Bowling League. Chris enjoyed Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout in 2002. He transferred from Salisbury High and graduated from Alpha Omega Online Christian School in 2009. 

In 2014, his life was forever changed by a brain tumor; but that never really stopped him from making an impact in the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to meet him. He fought courageously with multiple surgeries, radiation and chemo over the last 13 years. He exceeded all medical expectations and always had a positive attitude. When things were tough, he leaned into his faith and he never complained. Christopher had a welcoming, jovial and warm personality that always drew people close to him. He was a regular Usher at Cornerstone and Franklin (leader of the ushers, Cornerstone Church) always gave positive affirmations on how well he did while giving his time to serve. He will be remembered as a wonderful, beloved, sweet and big-hearted soul who will be immensely missed by all who knew him.

Christopher is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kyle Ross and Daisy Marie Taylor; Noel Thomas (Tommy) and Joyce Anne Jessup; as well as Melvin Boles (a long time family friend). 

He is survived by his son, Nicholas Caelan Cummings-Taylor; parents: Gindy and Phillip Taylor; sister: Kaley Taylor; Brother: Eric Taylor (Lori, Spouse); nephew: Finnegan Taylor; Nieces: Karagan Luanne Mae Sifford and Daisy Taylor; a few close friends, church family members, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of North Carolina and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
