It is with heavy hearts to announce Christopher Shupe, Sr. “Jack” for pilot cars, Shupe #77 to the Davidson County Class of 1977, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winston Salem.
He was born June 17, 1959 in Hillsville, VA. Christopher was a volunteer at the Rowan County Rescue Squad for many years and helped save the lives of many people. Mr. Shupe also worked at Kosa (Fiber) where he was part of the fire brigade to ensure other’s safety. His last occupation was a pilot car driver, where he helped move freight on public roadways, assuring public safety, protecting them from harm and property damage by assisting in safe travels. He loved to bass fish, where he received many trophies, which covered his walls entirely.
Dad was a very soft spoken and always put others before himself, the world has lost one special person.
He was married to Ann Shupe and is survived by his children, Chris Shupe and wife, Stacy; Christi Hamilton and husband, Robert; three grandchildren, Robbie Hamilton, Destini Hamilton and Chris Lee Shupe; and one great-grandchild, Neveah Hamilton.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at his daughter’s home beginning at 3pm.

My favorite brother in law as he always made me smile and laugh. We used to play cards every other weekend and had the BEST TIME. He was always very kind to me and my children. They loved their Uncle Chris. He LOVED my sister very much and his children & grandchildren. He will be missed and our hearts are heavy right now.
