Clarence “Wayne” Judy Jr., 54, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026, after facing a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Born January 25, 1972, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Wayne grew up in south Charlotte and attended Olympic High School. He was a plumber by trade and worked for several plumbing companies throughout the Charlotte area. Wayne was a father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his humor, always cracking jokes and bringing laughter to those around him. Loved by all who knew him, he leaves behind countless memories that will be cherished forever. His hobbies included fishing, grilling, and watching NASCAR. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and listening to music.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather Joseph Larry Judy; grandfather J.C. Judy; uncles James L. Bennett, Glenn Bennett, and John A. Judy; and cousins Heather D. Nixon and Madison White.
Wayne is survived by his son Joseph Keenan Judy and daughter Amberlyn Brooke Judy, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; the mother of his children, Stephanie Gordon of Charlotte, North Carolina; his parents Sheron B. Judy of Satsuma, Florida, and Clarence Wayne Judy (Angie) of Gastonia, North Carolina; his sister Lisa D. Giotis (Mike) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his brother Brian K. Judy of Melbourne, Florida. He is also survived by his grandmothers Mary G. Bennett of Trenton, Florida, and Evelyn R. Judy of Orlando, Florida; his niece Despina Giotis (Andrew Abernathy) of Charlotte, North Carolina; his nephew Seth Judy (Lana) of Munising, Michigan; and one greatnephew; his long term companion, Jennifer Ray of Sharon, South Carolina.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held in early fall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Atrium Health Hospice and Palliative Care Union 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110 or The Humane Society of Charlotte 1348 Parker Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208

Just wanted to take the time to say thank you Wayne, thank you for all the memories and all the laughs man. It’s just doesn’t seem right that you are gone, you were one of my best friends and you seen me through some of the darkest times of my life man. It’s not the same out here at Burson now that you aren’t here anymore. The days kinda drag by with little laughter.
