Claudia Victoria Amburn, 76, of York, SC, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Atrium Health Pineville in Charlotte, NC from complications of Muscular Dystrophy.

She was born March 28, 1949 in Maryville, TN to the late Leon Goss Finley and Sara Walker Deane.

Claudia’s laugh! Claudia’s laugh carried kindness, softness and pure love. Her laugh is how she is remembered, her laugh calmed and eased. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. Claudia loved her dogs who stayed by her side. She loved her coffee and mornings and always woke up joyful with a smile as distinct as her laugh.

In addition to her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by her brother, Mickey Finley; grandson, Brandon Amburn; ex husband, Herb Amburn; and her chihuahua of 20 years, Frita.

Claudia is survived by her daughter, Sarah Ingram (Troy); son, Mark Amburn; grandsons, Jax Ingram and Colby Amburn; granddaughter, Cassie Wetherby (Josh); brother, Michael Finley; aunt, Terry Collins; caregivers, Haylee Mumma, Tamara Maners, Patricia Jones and Hospice Aide Payton Brooks. Claudia’s caregivers made it possible for her to live at home with people she loved, they pampered and spoiled her and she appreciated their time and dedication.

A celebration of life will be held at Claudia’s home on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 11:00-1:00 pm friends and family are welcome.

Memorials may be made to Midway Christian Academy, Chapman’s Dachshund Rescue, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
