Daisy Safrit Barrier, 87, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at her home. Daisy was born on December 8, 1925 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Jesse Calvin and Beulah Graham Safrit.
Daisy attended Mount Ulla High School and worked as a Seamstress. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, North Congregation. Daisy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, mowing and gardening, and loved her flowers and fruit trees.
In addition to her parents, Daisy is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Banks Barrier; brothers, Woodrow and Barney Safrit, and sisters, Jane Shope and Dorothy Bradshaw.
Survivors: Daisy is survived by her daughter, Brenda Barrier DeFeo; sons, Dennie Barrier and wife Barbara, Rodney Barrier and Kimm Barrier all of Salisbury. Brothers, Lloyd “Skinny” Safrit, Bruce Safrit and Benard “Nard” Safrit. Twin Sister, Maisy Yost, and sister, Rachel Nail. 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service: There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Assembly Hall, 3401 Old Concord Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
Memorials may be made to, North Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1760 Old Union Church Road, Salisbury, North Carolina 28146.
