Sofia,
I am so very saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. That picture is so much like I remember Dan. The setting reminds me of the trip you, Dan and I took to Banff and Kananaskis in Canada a little over 20 years ago. I remember when Dan and I were at odds on which road to turn down in order to find a favorite moose watering hole! I fondly remember that as “Moosegate.”
You and Dan were always so great to me and I’m so happy for the friendship that I shared with both of you over the years. I remember after my Tom died the two of you came to my house in Dec and Dan helped me decorate my Christmas tree. The three of us enjoyed some libations and laughs, and it made a difficult time a little easier for me! I’m happy to have memories of traveling to great places with you both like Peaks of Otter, Kananaskis, and of course visiting at your “Pee Wee” mountain cabin. Sofia, I pray the love and many memories you shared with Dan over 40+ years, and the love and support of family and close friends, will give you comfort at this time.
With heartfelt sympathy, JoElla

May God’s love lift and comfort you and your family, and supply all your needs. We remember good times with Daniel. We lovingly called him, Dan. My husband and I were blessed with many days of talking and laughing with him in the front yard about many things, and sharing veggies from our garden, and Oh!, those delicious apple he shared with us from the trees he planted. With two claps of his hands he called the most beautiful and colorful birds to our backyards, which came for food from the hanging feeders to get cool drinks along with bird baths on hot Summer days. I never knew anyone who loved their dog or Nature as much as he did. Thank God that you are both a part of our life. We love you,and are here for you.

Hello Sophia, you are in my prayers! I am so sorry for your loss. I agree with a comment before, that’s the perfect picture! It’s how I remember Dan and he looks so happy in his element. You and Dan meant a lot to me! And of course Dakota will always have a special spot in my heart. You are one of the first that I pet sat for and helped me grow even more of my love of animals and nature and was a big part of me getting my first dog. Dan was always so kind and always made me laugh. He made me feel comfortable, protected, and welcomed. I will dearly miss him.
I always go back to the scripture that says Jehovah is “greater than our hearts” (1 John 3:19,20) He knows how we feel, what we want, what our intentions are, and loves us so much! Only he knows the heart, we can leave it in Jehovah’s hands. I love you so much, you are family to me. You will be in my prayers and thoughts.

Dan was such a kind warm person. I loved his smile! What a nice photo that was posted. My heart hurts for how you all must miss him!♡ We look forward to seeing him again.
We love you so much! Our hearts ache with you and we cry for your pain. You are not alone as you walk on, we are all with you and our heavenly father Jehovah will never abandon you! ❤️
I have found much comfort in this verse, Psalm 94:19. The wording in the reference Bible touchs my heart as well. I pray Jehovah comforts and sooths your heart and your family!

Dearest Sofia,
I have so many fond memories of you and Dan especially visiting at Peewee cabin and Ginger house. So many wonderful walks w Dakota and looking at the beautiful countryside w both of you. (“forced marching”as Dan would say) Dan loved birds and providing bird feeders. He was a hard and conscientious worker always striving to get his commercial projects done in a timely manner. Please know that you are in my prayers. May Jehovah comfort and watch over you during this difficult time. Love my little sister.

Even though I haven’t actually seen him in many years we still stayed in touch through chats/texts. And he was still as funny and witty using the printed word as he was using the spoken word. I will miss our reminiscent chats too. We had a lot of fun and some crazy experiences in our youth. My parents considered you a 4th son when you lived with us for that time and for me it was like having a 3rd brother. Rest in Peace old friend. Your wife Sofia and your family are in my prayers.
Sonia Nagle says
Dear Sofia,
We are sad you lost Dan, no doubt you will miss him very much! He was always excited to see you when you had been away from each other. He’d been known to do jumping jacks as you pulled up to the house!
He was a very generous person, who was happy to share his home, car, cabin, or anything you might need.
We have many memories of Dan and you throughout the years!
May Jehovah be a source of strength and comfort for you in this difficult time.
“Though I walk in the valley of deep shadow, I fear no harm, For you are with me; Your rod and your staff reassure me.”
Psalm 23:4
