Darlene M. Casavant, 60 of New London, passed away on September 7, 2014 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Darlene was born on March 30, 1954 in Hudson, Michigan, a daughter of the late Albert and Doris Smith Good.
Darlene was a a retired nurse. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Albemarle.
In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by brothers, Albert Good and Carl Brown.
Survivors include her husband of almost 30 years, Douglas Casavant. Her children, James Houck and wife Wanda, stationed in New York, Paul Houck and wife Kitina of North Carolina, Jeanie Taylor and husband Johnny of North Carolina, Alena Doncillo and husband Joel of California, Tony Casavant and wife Miranda of North Carolina, and Alice Casavant of California. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister, Susie Hopkins and husband John of Michigan, and brother, LeRoy Good of Texas.
There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 4:00 PM at First Lutheran Church of Albelmarle, conducted by Rev. John Futterer. The family will receive friends after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Darlene to First Lutheran Church 230 S. 2nd Street Albemarle NC 28001.
