Darville Wakely Deveaux, 82, of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday October 25, 2015 at Novant Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. Mr. Deveaux was born on December 23, 1932 in Nassau Bahamas to the late Robert Nesbitt Deveaux and Lillian Gertrude Wake. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Mr. Deveaux was a Jehovah’s Witness and he loved to witness to others about his faith. Darville worked as a Toll Booth Operator in the New York Transit System, which suited him perfectly, because he never met a stranger in his life. Darville was an avid reader, he loved life, he loved to travel, and he loved to spend time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law and friend, Guy Kirton.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Lorene Deveaux of Charlotte; a daughter, Stacy Deveaux Roberts and husband Jerome of Charlotte; a sister, Joan Valencia Kirton of Queens, NY; and his grand dog, Bella.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at 12:00 PM at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall at 6200 Wilgrove Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, NC 28227.
Carolina Cremation of Charlotte is serving the Deveaux family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

I’m so sorry for your loss. The sting of death will soon be replaced by the joy of welcoming our brother, father and friend back soon. We have this guarantee because we have a Father who loves and cares for us. Please find comfort in the many memories and know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many. He will be missed but never forgotten, because he’s in Jehovah’s memory.

I know this is a difficult time for your family and I hope during a quiet moment you find solace in the reassurance that is found in the bible at Rev 21:4 it says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more… The former things have passed away.”
The Pearsons says
He will call; the dead will answer. They shall live at his command. For He will have a longing for the work of his own hand. So have faith, and do not wonder, for our God can make us stand. And we shall live forever, as the work of his own hand (Job 14:13-15). Deepest condolences to the Deveaux family. We hope to see your loved one in Paradise.

Even though our time together was short, over the years I’ve thought of you all often. Let Jehovah wrap his big arms of love around you and then lead you to peace. You’re in my prayers, until we meet again.
