David Allen Blount, 69, of Landis, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Atrium Health Northeast Medical Center in Concord, NC.
He was born September 28, 1949 in Norfolk, VA to the late Clarence “Wilber” Blount and Ethel Whitehurst Blount. David graduated from Harding High School in 1968, and later received an associates degree from Rowan Cabarrus Community College in Computer Science Technology. He worked as a Computer Programmer, but David’s passion was volunteering with the Royal Ranger Ministries. He was also a member of Living Water Church A Church of God Fellowship in Kannapolis.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Sharleen Blount; son, David Aaron Blount of Landis, NC; daughter, Keren Esther Pillsbury (Deon) of Rockwell; grandchildren, Amanda S. Freeman (Cliff), Deon A. Pillsbury (Dara), Zackary T. Pillsbury, Katham Blount; 2 great-grandsons, Wesley Freeman and Jaxon Freeman; sister, Donna Lynne Fulton (Del) of Sarasota, FL.
The family will greet friends and relatives at 4 pm on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Living Water Church, 166 N. Little Texas Rd. Kannapolis, NC 28083. There will be a memorial service held at 5 pm following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NC Royal Ranger Ministries at 166 N. Little Texas Rd. Kannapolis, NC 28083.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Blount family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

David always did such a wonderful Christian walk and brought many to the Lord, he wasn’t loud but quietly and in a fun way he opened so many hearts and eyes to hear and come to know the Lord.
