David Eugene Kimmer, 76, of Rockwell, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Atrium Health Northeast Medical Center.

He was born January 23, 1945 in Salisbury, NC to the late Clegg Kimmer and Fannie Kluttz Kimmer. David worked as an electrician for Medley Electric for over 35 years and in his spare time he enjoyed building birdhouses and bird watching. He was a member of Lyerly Memorial Reformed Church.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Daugherty.

David is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Diana Kimmer; sons, Robbie Kimmer (Renee) of Richfield; Scott Kimmer (Wendy) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Tayler Jolee Kimmer, Kristen Kimmer Pelaez, and Cori Kimmer; sister, Peggy Rogers (Red); and brother, Clifford Kimmer (Jamie).

There will be a private graveside service held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Atrium Health Levine’s Children Hospital, 208 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203.
