Dennis George Goeke Sr., 73, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born August 8, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Anton Goeke and Anita Marshal Goeke. He loved his family, loved to laugh, and loved his dogs. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the wild bunnies in the yard and spending time with his grandchildren. He proudly served in the US Navy during Vietnam.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Goeke; stepson, Walter Pegram; best friend, Ron McConnell; as well as many other beloved friends and family.
Dennis is survived by daughters, Lindsey Goeke (Keith Sentak) and Michele Goeke-Pelszynski (Joe); sons, Kevin Goeke and Dennis Goeke Jr.; grandchildren, Logan Goeke, Emma-Grace Goeke, Kate Pelszynski, Joey Pelszynski, Dennis Goeke III, and Dennis Fiorentino; great-granddaughter, Isabella Fiorentino; brother, Dave Goeke (Janice); and 4 nieces.
There will be a memorial service held at 1pm on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his daughter to help cover funeral expenses.
