Donald E. Palmer Sr., 85, of Rockwell, NC passed away on March 30, 2019 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Born October 20th, 1933 in Putney, VT to the late Hartwell E. Palmer and Nellie V. Howard Palmer Lanou.
Mr. Palmer served in the US Navy. He had his own Construction Business in VT. Was meat cutter for several year. Also worked on the railroad in VT and NY in his younger years which he mainly raced in NH and VT. He loved owning and building his own race cars for his sons Darren, Daric, and his son-in-law Bill, along with others who drove for him over the years.
He loved his 5 Children and 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He also loved watching all sports and auto racing on TV. Also loved Snowmobiling. He loved spending time with his children, family, numerous friends and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his son, Daric E Palmer, his grandparents, Albert E Howard and Mary Pebbles Howard, and Sister, Patricia M Thomas.
He is Survived by his Children, son, Donald E Palmer, JR of TX, daughter, Mona Palmer Bisnette and William of Rockwell, NC, daughter, Monica Palmer of Raphine, VA, son, Darren Palmer and Christine of Ware, MA; Grandchildren, Keith R Palmer of NC, Tavis Palmer of VA, Darcy Palmer Bordenuk and Micheal of Okinawa Japan, Curtis Palmer of MA, Jacob Palmer of MA, Kalaihla Palmer of VA, Brittney Palmer of TX, Allyssa Palmer of TX, Isaiah Palmer of VA, Myiah of VA, and Zach of VA; along with 8 great grandchildren; a Brother, Lemuel Palmer of VT; and Sister, Judy Lampher of NY, and several Nieces and Nephews whom he also loved.
He will be greatly missed by his Family, Loved Ones and Numerous Friends
A Celebration of life will be held later by his family.
