Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Donald Julian, 59 of Salisbury, peacefully passed Sunday, March 26th, at the Kiser Hospice House with his family, pastor and loved ones by his side.
In his final days, Don and his wife, Brenda, and son, Alex, were blessed by an outpouring of love and support from friends and family who stopped by their home to share their favorite memories and to convey how their lives have been changed for the better by having known him.
A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Salisbury, Don was a private, thoughtful man who believed in showing kindness and respect toward everyone and was giving and loving in deed and in thought. He had a way of filtering life through slightly different lenses and found ways to make everything better and to make us laugh at the same time.
A graduate of East Rowan High School and East Carolina University, Don eventually began a successful career at Salisbury Coatings, a local construction company owned by his beloved friend and mentor, A.D. Powell. Years later, Don became part owner of Salcoa Contracting along with A.D.’s son Danny, where they have remained steadfast business partners and closest friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda and son, Alex; brother Joe Julian (Cindy); sisters Susan Roberson and Brenda Williams; nephews Jeremy Julian, Joey Cassels, and Jared Cassels; nieces Jennifer Mathers, Ali Roberson, Jenna Cassels, Lisa Sutton, Amy Callahan and Trudy Lyon. He was preceded in death by parents Howard and Bettye Julian, sister Patti Porter (Tony), and brother-in-law Ron Roberson.
Service: A memorial service celebrating Don’s life will be held on Thursday, March 30th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Salisbury. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM in the church sanctuary.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in his memory to St. Paul Lutheran’s Church at 205 St. Paul Church Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146 or to the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research at jimmyv.org.
