Eugene Matthew Frankiewicz, 90, of Salisbury, died October 13, 2018. Eugene was born on August 3rd, 1928 in Whiting, Indiana to Stanley and Antoinette Frankiewicz.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Cyganowski) Frankiewicz, son Richard Frankiewicz (wife Coleen), daughter Dawn Lamb (husband Craig), grandchildren Matthew Frankiewicz, Josiah Lamb, Allison Frankiewicz, Ryan Frankiewicz and Shane Frankiewicz. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Rybarczyk and three brothers, Edward, Chester, and Theodore Frankiewicz.
Eugene grew up in Whiting, Indiana, working from a young age at his father’s bakery and serving as an
altar boy and attending grammar school at Saint Adalbert’s Catholic Church. He graduated from Whiting
high school in 1946. Eugene was a veteran of the US Navy, serving from 1946 to 1948 and earning an
honorable discharge and the WWII Victory Medal.
Eugene owned and operated several businesses involved in the trucking and automotive businesses and
was a member of the Teamster’s Local 142 in Indiana. In retirement, Eugene and Mary lived in Delphi,
Indiana for 20 years, later moving to Florida and later to Salisbury, North Carolina. Eugene will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
A memorial service and celebration of Eugene’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on October 24, 2018 at Trinity Oaks Retirement Community. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are encouraged to support the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

So very sorry for your loss. Uncle Eugene was one of my favorite uncles as well. Always a smile on his face and Always so kind to us as kids~~ He will be missed and always loved. He is up in heaven with all the rest of the family enjoying eternal life and doing the polka!!
