Faye Holshouser Corl, 82, of Rockwell passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014. Faye was born on June 20, 1931 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Van C. and Mabel Holshouser.
Faye was a 1949 graduate of Rockwell High School, she retired from Celanse in Salisbury in 1994. Faye is a member of Broadus Baptist Church in Concord; she loved flowers, gardening and working in her yard.
In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her husband Houston O. Corl. Brothers, B.K., Charles, Bill, Harry and Van Holshouser, Jr.; and a sister, Betty Freeman.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Pamela Sossamon and husband Gary of Stanfield; grandchildren, Christopher Kendall, Chyanne, Amber, and Madison Sossamon; and sister, Barbara Whitley of Rockwell.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Broadus Baptist Church in Concord, conducted by Rev. Rodney Quesenberry, Pastor.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Broadus Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care 720 Grove Street Salisbury NC 28144.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Faye’s niece, Pat Hill, sister in law, Kay Holshouser, Randi Allen, and nurses Suzanne Pauley, Stacy Kirkman and Sayward Fletcher for their care and support during Faye’s illness.

i knew you as just one of van’s kids during 1943-1947. i knew van well, he and dad were good friends. as a little kid van gave me a lot of banana to eat.

Faye was my sister in law, a kind and gentle lady that welcomed me into the Holshouser family and continued to be a friend long after her brother Charles died. My love and sympathy go out to Pam and Gary and the rest of the family and I know the fond memories will help you through this difficult time.
