I went to school in Calvert with Darnelle before she moved away to Corsicana. We just recently re-connected this year via Facebook. I was shocked and saddened to read of her passing. I recently asked her if she would be coming to our school reunion in June, and she told me she had health issues and would not be able to attend. I had no idea how ill she was. Rest in peace, Darnelle.

Oh I am so sad to hear this. I worked with sweet Darnelle for many, many years. She was apart of my Kilgore family. She and I hung out in Dallas and even traveled to New York City together, shortly before 9/11. We saw many Broadway plays on that trip – saw Liam Neeson in a play and met him afterwards. A highlight for both of us. I will miss my sweet friend. She was always the sweetest, kindest person that I know. Now she is with Tony and your Dad. Ginger, she loved you so much, you and your grandkids were the light of her life. I am so sorry for your loss. With warmest regards, Nancy Remmers Overfield

Ginger and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Oh, how I wish I had made a trip to see her.
When I think of your mom, I will always remember both the good and the hard times we shared together. She was given a wonderful gift of being able to weather the many storms we go thru in life and and come out on the other side with a smile on her face. The friendship our two families has had will always be very special to me. We have lots of wonderful memories. She was so proud of you, Dave, and the kids.
We missed her in Dallas, but I know she was so happy to get to be there with you and your family.
Please let us know when the Celebration of Life will be in Dallas.
Love you all! Barb Hinshaw Turner

I remember her so well in Corsicana High School. She was the friendliest person I could ever want to meet. We became reacquainted on Facebook last year and even talked for a good long time. I learned about her life after CHS and about her family. She was a wonderful person and friend.
