Franklin Lee “Honk” Earnhardt, 69, of Salisbury, left this earth for his heavenly home, unexpectedly, on June 22, 2022.
Honk was born on July 5, 1952 to Adam Newton and Stella Mae (Harris) Earnhardt in Salisbury. Honk attended Faith School and was a master of all trades. Honk worked for Duke Power, Williams Electric, Asplundh, Davie Tree Service and retired from Town of Landis Public Works. In addition, Honk started and maintained a 40+ year yard mowing service. Honk’s passions included his grandchildren, restoring old Farmall tractors, wood working, being outdoors, and riding the Blue Ridge Parkway. One final passion, more of a gift, was that of being “Santa”. Honk had the natural look and spirit to be the best Santa for many years around Salisbury.
Honk is proceeded in death by his parents and one brother, Adam Earnhardt.
Left to cherish Honk’s memory are his wife, Teri Earnhardt; son, Franklin“Chuck”Earnhardt (Tiffany); daughter, April Earnhardt; stepsons, Patrick Hutchens (Erin) and Travis Hutchens (Jessie). Honk was a fun and loving Pawpaw to nine grandchildren, Landon, Brody, and Noah Earnhardt; Katie and Bethany Finney; Paisley, Steel, Parks, and Jace Hutchens; Jacoby Earnhardt (Honorary); Jeremiah Tinsley (Great Grandchild); a cat affectionately named, Sassy; one brother, Ronald Earnhardt of Salisbury; one sister, Agnes Chavis of Lumberton, and a nephew, Johnathan Earnhardt (Sabrina Templeton).
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Earnhardt family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
