Garland Rex Bailey, 75, of Rockwell, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in Salisbury, NC.  He was born February 9, 1951 in Denton, NC to the late Walter Bailey and Doris Rogers Crenshaw.  In addition to his parents, Garland was preceded in death by his stepfather Harvey Crenshaw.

Garland is survived by his wife of 51 years Rebecca Bailey; daughter, Stacy Bailey (and fiance’ Frankie); son Jonathan Bailey (and wife Elizabeth); best friend and oldest grandchild Cory Livengood (wife Lakisha); grandsons Travis, Riley, Elijah, and Josiah; granddaughters Sarah and Sophia; great granddaughters Shyann and Olivia; brothers Roger and Russ Bailey, and sister Ava Shaw.

Garland loved to fish and be outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and didn’t know a stranger.  He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family, and devoted the last few years of his life caring for his wife Becky.

A celebration of Mr. Bailey’s life will be held on a future date to be determined.
