Gary Dale Carson, (aka Gary Dale O’Neil) was born on March 24th, 1958. He died on April 14th 2025.

He was born to the late Shirley Ann Carson Smith. Gary was raised by his grandparents Charlie and Betty Carson who preceded him in Death. Gary never met his biological father whose name given on his birth certificate was Edmond Jay O’Neil which he later found out was Edmund James O’Neal, which he is looking forward to meeting in Jehovah’s promised new Paradise.

Gary graduated from North Iredell High school in 1978. Later in life, he received his Associates degree at Mitchell Community College. Gary worked as a Quality Control Engineer for many years. He was an active member and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Statesville, NC. He was faithful till his death. Gary loved speaking with people and sharing the hope of a better future that the Bible spoke about. A future that he is now awaiting. As many know, Gary was a HUGE Chicago Bears fan. Gary was also a photographer. He loved taking pictures, so much, that he was rarely in any photos himself. He was a Loving Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Cousin, Friend and a hard worker for his Faith.

Beside his Grandparents, and mother he was preceded in death by several uncles, aunts, his stepfather Franklin Lonnie Smith and his Father and Mother-n-Law Charles and Thelma Mills.

Gary leaves to cherish his memories  his wife of 36 years Sandra Mills Carson, 3 daughters Pebbles La-Triecé Carson of Florida, Angela Stevenson, and Stephanie Mills both of Statesville, 2 sons Gary Dale Carson Jr. of Hickory, NC and Ashley Gillian of Statesville. 2 sisters Nande Krist’ , Lonyetta Smith both of Statesville, 1 Aunt- Neely Levy of Maryland,  1 uncle- Thad Carson Sr. of Hamptonville NC. 2- Brother-n-Laws Charles and Kenneth Mills 1- Sister -n-Law Debra Mills, 2-Aunts -n-Laws Frances Wilson, and Bertha Davidson all of Statesville, NC. 4 grandchildren, Sean Stevenson, Na’Ryiah Mills-Morrison, Chadrick Morrison Jr. and Aniyah Morrison all of Statesville. His Nephews, Nieces and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

A Memorial for Gary will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 318 James Farm Rd. Statesville, NC 28625 on Saturday April 26th at 2:00pm. A picture presentation will start at 1:30. There will also be provision made to see the memorial via Zoom. (Please contact the family.) Immediately following the Memorial the family will gather at Ramada Inn located at 1215 Garner Bagnal Blvd Statesville, NC with Family and Friends.
