Gary Mason Dotson, 40 years of age of Davidson, NC, formerly of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at his home after a lengthy illness. Born September 13, 1976 in Buchanan County, VA, he was the son of Gary Dotson of Grundy, VA and Lou Ellen Williamson Dotson Charles of Davidson, NC.

Mason loved motorcycles, was a great mechanic and a car enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family and friends and having people around him. He had a loving heart, a contagious laugh and was of the Christian faith. A loving son, father, grandfather, brother uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Auredith and Albert Dotson and his maternal grandparents: Dewey and June Williamson.

Survivors in addition to his father Gary Dotson and his wife Deborah of Grundy, VA and mother Lou Ellen Williamson Dotson Charles of Davidson, NC, include his wife Melissa Dotson of Davidson, NC; daughters Haley Dotson of Davidson, NC, and Jessica; ; son Jessie Coleman and wife Veronica of Haysi, VA; sisters Traci Kinder and husband Ricky of Mouthcard, KY, Staci Dotson of Davidson, NC, April Moorefield and husband Will of Tazewell, VA; brothers Michael Scott Dotson and companion Glenna Turner of Davidson, NC, Dewey Wayne Charles of Davidson, NC, and Chad Owens and wife Angela of Abingdon, VA,

He is also survived by his granddaughter Ellie Coleman of Haysi, VA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial service for Gary Mason Dotson will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Tookland Pentecostal Church, Grundy, VA with Reverend Wade McGeorge officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Tookland Pentecostal Church, Saturday at 12:00 noon until the memorial hour of 1:00 p.m.

Grave side service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elswick Family Cemetery in Big Rock, VA with Minister Paul Dotson officiating.
