Gary Temer Rivenbark of Granite Quarry, NC passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Moses Cone hospital in Greensboro, NC. Mr. Rivenbark was born April 20, 1949 in Vero Beach, FL to the late Temer and Ruth Rivenbark.
Gary loved music and he played many instruments. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping, hunting, fishing, swimming, golfing, riding motorcycles, and NASCAR races. However, his greatest love was for his God, Jehovah. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 16, 1960 and served as a full time minister for 2 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Emily Rivenbark; a brother, James Rivenbark.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Jane Rivenbark of Granite Quarry; five children, Matthew (Angie) Rivenbark, Michelle Rivenbark, Gary Rivenbark, Melissa Rivenbark, and Randall (Grace) Rivenbark; two step-children, Brandon Jenkins, and Ciera (Tommy) Moore; his sister, Barbara (Keniman) Belcher of Scott Depot, WV; an uncle, Luke (Kate) Rivenbark of Vero Beach, FL; along with 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nephews and cousins. He was dearly loved by his wife who cared for him before his death. He will be missed by his many friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 18th, at 3 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (3411 Old Concord Rd. Salisbury, NC).
Flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Jehovah’s Witnesses if you wish.

I remember Gary from the early 60:s in Baton Rouge, LA. I’m sorry for the family’s loss but he will be back soon. I am glad he remained faithful to Jehovah after all these years . I remember him since I was about his age (July, 1950 since there were few young ones in the North Unit (as it was known then) in Baton Rouge. I am glad that I remembered him all these years.
