Mr. George Battle Sr., 83, of Charlotte, passed away on Saturday August 23, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family. Mr. Battle was born on May 5, 1931 to the late Burley Battle and Carrie Hampton Battle in Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Battle proudly served his country in the United States Army.

George worked as a Draftsman for PSE & G, and was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed model trains, photography, motorcycles, and boating. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 62 yrs, Delores Winborne Battle of Charlotte; two sons, George C. Battle Jr. and wife Carletta of Plainfield, New Jersey, and Gregory Battle and wife Twana of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Timothy Battle; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
