George Graham Redman, beloved brother, husband, father and poppaw peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Born on December 7, 1942, in Cleveland , NC, George was the son of the late David Young Redman and Addie Bell Gardner Redman. George was a graduate of West Rowan High School Class of 1961. He was employed by Food Lion, Salisbury, NC as a warehouse supervisor for 17 years and retired from NGK Ceramics in Mooresville, NC. In 2008. He was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry. George loved traveling to the mountains, hunting, and a deep love for plowing and mowing with his tractors.
George is preceded in death by his parents and brothers John D. Redman, William Redman, and Charles Redman; sister, Cora Redman. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Gail Link Redman; son, Johnny (Cindy) Redman of Cleveland, NC; daughter, Kelly Redman (Kip) Butterfield of Cleveland, NC; sister, Iva Gaines of Hampton, VA; brother, Samuel Redman of Mocksville; sister-in-law, Judy M. Redman of Cleveland; granddaughters, Megan Wilhelm(Hunter Brooks); Jennifer (Chris) Roman; grandsons, Johnny R. (Maghon) Redman, Cody Wilhelm(Tabitha Stricklin), Brandon Redman, Beau Butterfield, Matt Kale; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
According to Mr. Redman’s wishes, he will be cremated with a memorial service held at a later date.
